
Who Are We?
Turnbull's, at the time of writing this, is a small food production company focusing solely on making and selling Cufu. Started by myself, Mark Turnbull....I currently carry out every role within Turnbull's....from the manufacturing, cleaning, packaging, delivery, to the website design and upkeep, and social media presence.

I envisage a huge demand for our product, and will scale up as needed.
My Story
As an ex-vegetarian, I was always searching for healthy alternatives to popular foods made from animal products. I could rarely find healthy direct replacements so I started experimenting making my own.
It started with fermented and aged cashew cheese which was absolutely delicious, high in protein unlike other vegan cheeses with next to no protein. That was very hit and miss due to the fact it used bacteria for the culturing process and would often go bad. Then I moved on to experimenting with vegan ice cream made from cashews and avocado. This was also delicious and those who tried it thought they were eating dairy cream. But I soon realised that the sweeteners I used may actually be as unhealthy as sugar. Seeing as my mission is to eat and provide healthy food, this went against my ethos so I abandoned that idea.
Then I discovered that tofu can be made from pumpkin seeds, and I soon realised that this was exactly what I was looking for. I started experimenting, making small batches for myself and my partner which became a staple part of our meal rotation. I have been very aware as a vegetarian that it can be difficult for us to find healthy, minimally processed protein sources, with a great deal of highly processed and health damaging foods out there.... so this hugely excited me. I was also aware that many people are soya intolerant, just don't like soya based tofu, or can't eat it due to its high phytoestrogen content.

Turnbull's Cufu fills a huge gap. Allowing people to eat VERY minimally processed protein that tastes delicious, and is soya free. Staying true to my own health and nutritional goals, Turnbull's ethos is to make and supply a food that is highly nutritious and that I myself would eat as a staple. I refuse to eat and sell anything that is deemed unhealthy.
I am now experimenting with cultured and aged Cufu cheese, and hope to add this to my product list once perfected.

My goal is to make Turnbull's Cufu a staple in many vegan/vegetarian homes across the UK. Cufu will be a game changer.
